This is my story of growing up in Bluffton, Indiana during the boom years of the 1950's. The story recounts the pranks, problems and personalities of my friends and me as we grew to adulthood in a small town nestled in a farming area. The book provides a humorous look at the things we did and why we did them as we struggled to emerge from the Depression-era lifestyle of our parents, to the new culture fueled by soldiers returning from World War II. The returning soldiers wanted cars, homes and household conveniences and our town, like others, changed suddenly in response to their economic power and the new technology. The new technology also provided our entertainment and we grooved to the sounds of Elvis and Pat Boone but still found time to mow lawns, pick berries and walk a paper route while the post-war era unfolded before our eyes.From reader reviews:
